HTML How to Make a Website Beginning HTML and CSS Follow Along with Workspaces

Work space not working as advertised.

I'm on the first html exercise. The instructions are to type my name between two h1 tags, save and click preview. I followed the instructions but clicking the preview button presented me with a menu of items each of which consisted of the word "port" followed by a 3- or 4-digit number. I tried clicking on two or three of the items but gave up when I was unable to find a workspace showing the name I had typed between the h1 tags. Did I accidentally do something wrong or does this website have bugs?

Thomas,

Workspaces is acting a little wonky right now, and not acting as advertised. That happens rarely and they usually get it fixed fairly quickly. Just wanted to affirm that it's being weird, so you didn't do anything. If you have a text editor, you can download the files and follow along that way. Good luck, Jon

I think it only asks your for your port the first time you use it. It is a set up question. Just choose port 80 and see if that works.

Jeremy - That actually was the first one I tried. It got me the workspace with Nick Pettit's name on it. I tried refreshing but there was no change. Could it some sort of compatibility problem with the browser? I'm going to switch to Chrome later on and see if that helps.

Thanks Jon. That's reassuring. I'm willing to forgive technical glitches if they aren't too frequent or too long-lasting.
