Could this be a bug in the work space enviroment?

5,501 PointsWas this ever fixed? Having this problem on Chrome, once I switch to the console it will not let me get back to the coding window, it will only let me type in the console...

16,113 PointsJim,
I believe there is a related problem with Firefox (using Windows 7). A cursor will blink both in spaces and in the console, but I am only able to type in spaces, despite repeatedly clicking on the console. I restart workspaces and the problem persists. Occasionally, I am able to type in the console after clicking on it. Still, there is obviously some problem present.
With Chrome there isn't any issue at all: when I click on the console, a blinking cursor appears. When I click on spaces, the console cursor disappears and a cursor for spaces appears. Everything works as expected. I can type freely in either spaces or the console with just a click. Not so with Firefox.
Thanks, Jon

5,039 PointsI'm having this problem with Chrome. I clicked "File -> Save", which allowed me to save the document then I relaunched Workspaces. However, my document then included text that I'd not written! Very strange.

13,181 PointsThe solution is, after working on console, Click on the file name "hello.rb" on the tab menu..
mouse selector seems to be not working efficiently, but when you click on tab, it fixes for sure.
(i use Chrome btw,)
Hope this helps.
cheers!

Treehouse Guest TeacherHi Ryan,
That should not be happening. You will have to click on the console until the cursor starts blinking. What browser and operating system are you using when you experience this?

2,585 PointsI think this problem has a lot to do with your internet connection, it usually happens when its low.

2,756 PointsSame for me. Using Chrome. Can't easily switch between the console and the text file. very often it is just stuck in console and will not let me type any code. have to save, close and relaunch the workspace almost every time. takes ages to get through the lessons :(
