Hi Dwayne Bullock;

you wrote the code in the right way but you wrote alert('I DID IT'); inside 'index.html' file. The challenge here wants you to write it inside 'shout.js' file.

index.html file will be like this:

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
  <script src="shout.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

shout.js will be like this

alert('I DID IT!');

thanks
