Treehouse Guest TeacherHello Caleb,
First I'd like to say welcome to Treehouse :)
So to be clear, are you double-clicking the downloaded xcode project file (.xcodeproj) from the Finder to open the project in XCode? Or are you starting a new project within XCode and want to know what template to use for the Objective-C Basics course?
If you want to create a new console project, like the projects used in Objective-C Basics, you'll want to create a project from the Mac "Foundations" template.
I hope this helps.

I'm using version 5.1.1
