You aren't explaining it well. I have to pause every 5 sec

In the other videos they type as they go and it seems like you're just typing then talking about it briefly and moving on. For example, you didn't explain why we started using brackets and I'm pretty quick when it comes to typing, but I don't know javascript that well, so I can't go turbo speed and attempt to learn what you're talking about at the same time.

The main goal of this video as I see it is not about the code they are typing. More the method of writing a little, and testing, then writing a little then testing.

I also type out the code as they go though it, because it lets me notice small stuff that I might overlook if I just watch the video. I also end up pausing a lot and going back over the material a few times.

I'd like to back up Malori's original sentiment. Compared to the HTML and CSS courses I've taken here this instructor is RUSHING through all the steps. He's barely taking time to explain what he's typing or why it works the way it does. I get that he'd prefer people to try out coding on their own but the reason we're watching the videos is to learn. Please stop typing so fast.

One of the advantages of video instruction is self-pacing.

Because people learn at different rates, and may begin the course from different levels of prior experience, it's not likely that the pace of the video will be appropriate for all students.

But the beauty of video instruction is the fact that you can adjust the playback rate (from half speed to double speed in several steps), use the instant 10-second rewind, and skip back and ahead at will.

I have to agree here with Steven - I also find myself pausing, rewinding or even restarting some videos. The beauty of this platform is that 10-second rewind button, I use it a lot.

Thing is, do not feel as if you have to get everything at once, in one play-through Also, do not forget that Google is your friend, if there is anything you are uncertain of, or feel is not explained in depth enough, search for it. I do quite often, and find that also reading about a subject compliments the videos if they are not already included in the teacher's notes.

One more point, in reference to the '[]', the question was asked and answered by previous students, I have made it habit to check the questions section under the videos whilst paused to see if my queries are already answered.
