According to the Sketch Download website, "Sketch requires macOS High Sierra (10.13.4) or newer"....I don't have a Mac.

The requirements for a "...macOS High Sierra (10.13.4) or newer..." rules out a follow along for this part of the course, unless one rents from an online third-party source. Am I wrong? Are there alternatives for those of us without a Mac?

If you're a self-starter, I would encourage you to try following along with one of the alternatives suggested in the video description. You'll need to do a bit more work, since the steps will be different, but you should be able to complete the same types of projects.

Photoshop and Illustrator have free trials, but are otherwise fairly expensive.

You can try the basic version of Figma for free, and without downloading any software.

Adobe XD looks to be completely free. They also say you can import Sketch files, so that might aid in following along.

I believe InVision can also import from Sketch, and seems to be free. They also seem to have a fairly robust tutorial course.

I definitely don't want to discourage you from pursuing design using a Windows machine. However, I would say OSX is the more popular platform for the design field, and you may have to work a little bit harder to find tutorials and courses that work for you. Good luck, and happy creating!
