Hey guys, I'm looking to apply for my first Jr Web Dev job. It's tough because I don't have 'work' experience but I do work in IT for about 5 years now. I'm a Lead in my department. I've been self taught on Team Treehouse for a while now but I've finally realized that I may be ready to apply for a Jr. role.
Any advice on what my resume should look like? Or what I should look for when applying? Thanks in advance guys.

I think it is really important to have some work that you can show. If you have some time to create an experimental project and put that on github or codepen or anything, that will be a a great advantage.
That being said, not everyone has time to create cool side projects. Make sure you list your skills and libraries and frameworks you have some experience in within your resume. Are there any cool tech podcasts you listen to? Books you have read? Online courses you attend? Don't be shy to list them, even as a hobby! Companies often bet on candidates being really passionate over 'having some experience'.
Some companies test candidates with technical puzzles or challenges. Personally I suck at them. Don't feel bad if you don't complete them perfectly. At the end of the day, you are applying for a job that is in high demand. If you don't receive an offer at one, you probably will at the next.

Courses Plus Student 7,340 PointsI am in the same search, I do not have a website where to show my works, however I send along with my resume the links to the websites I have made. And link to my codepen, where I currently have things done with which I experiment.
I think those of us with little experience can show how little we've done, how we've developed it, and maybe that makes employers see something in us that's interesting.
