Ambition to be a Blockchain developer, but which techdegree should I consider?

Hey,

I'm a complete beginner and have only learning JavaScript for 2 weeks so far. It's going well and I'm enjoying it.

I'm excited by the Blockchain movement and hope to become a Blockchain developer in a year or so's time, but I need some foundations first.

Does anyone have a recommendation on what languages I should be focused on, and/or which techdegree I should consider?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks guys! :-)

The techdegree is expensive and strongly focused on getting you ready for employment in a fairly specific sort of market, i.e., python software/backend development, front-end, JavaScript development, or apps for iOS. The techdegree is not intended as a general intro to tech or programming.

Programming is fun, creative, and very intellectually challenging. I suggest picking a high-level language like Python or JavaScript and learning the basics of programming and trying to see if you find any real joy in it. In my experience, it is very easily to fall in love with the idea of something rather than the thing itself. Find out if software development is really your thing first, and see if you truly love the challenge of solving a computing problem. If you do, after getting to an intermediate level with your first language, branch off and get a book on Blockchain and read through it, pursue projects, take courses, rinse and repeat. Happy coding!
