Anaconda Navigator for Linux Mint

Hi,

I'm really thankful for this explanatory video -- it is very helpful!

I have a spaghetti-string of remaining questions -- basically I don't know what I don't know, as of yet.

Shall I download and install Anaconda Navigator for Linux Mint? On the one hand, I like its features, especially the Learning and Community tabs. I also liked the look of Jupyter QtConsole. On the other hand, I already have PyCharm and Jupyter Notebooks, and Atom.

I have lots of available HD space, so I'm not running out, but does anybody think these have fairly redundant functionalities? My OS is Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit.

Context: In my home directory I already have these folders:

  • anaconda
  • anaconda3
  • C:UsersUserAnaconda3Libsite-packages

Shall I leave these alone? I probably have them because I have PyCharm. I've also just run these:

conda update conda
conda update anaconda

And I've watched the video workshops on pipenv (whether or not I'm applying what I've learned may be another story) :)

This may turn into a lengthy discussion, so I appreciate anyone's feedback, and thanks/apologies in advance for your free tech support)! :) Thank you very much!!
