Any plans to make Badges Badge 2.0 Compliant?

Are there any plans to make badges exportable and Badge 2.0 compliant?

Perhaps a staffer will post a more definitive answer, but as far as I know, Treehouse has no association with the IMS Consortium (and they don't appear in the consortium membership directory).

Also, the badges currently used by Treehouse are just indicators of learning progress, but those issued by IMS Consortium members reflect achievements verified by skill assessments and certifications.

Regardless of their membership status, it wouldn't be difficult to create a 2.0 compliant badges allowing users to export them to platforms like badgr etc. . If you're paying for just a normal membership and not doing their degree thing compliant badges would be a nice way for those tracks you take to mean something more especially when applying for jobs.

I also believe they could use credential.net which is Accredible for verifying their badges if they wanted to. Digital badges are really growing so it would just be nice if the badges earned here meant more.

What I meant in my 2nd paragraph is that the "badges" you see here indicate study progress, but not assessment of acquired skill. Even detailed assessments don't often impress an employer unless they were proctored by an accredited institution, or themselves. I've seen employers who use Brainbench assessments (of which I have several), but they were only interested in the results of those taken on their own premises.

What the badges here represent may be of use to the student, but not likely of value to a prospective employer.
