Are we creating MVC like ROR?

I am hearing familiar terms which I have learned about in Ruby on Rails. Routes, and Views folder. Is this like a Javascript MVC structure?

Javascript MVC apps do usually have a separation of concerns similar to this. They usually have views/templates, a model to hold the data, and a controller to assign it. I don't know how things are with RoR but, I imagine it's very similar.
