Assertion Error

When I run this code on Python in my laptop it runs, but why does it not work on this file?

continents.py
continents = ['Asia', 'South America', 'North America', 'Africa', 'Europe', 'Antarctica', 'Australia']

#print("Continents:")
for continent in continents:
#   print ("* " + continent)
#   if continent.startswith ("A"):
    if continent[0] == "A":
        print(continent)

it doesn't like that you haven't formatted the * and space prior to the name. Here's how i solved it but note the formatting in the print method.

for continent in continents:
    if continent.startswith("A"):
        print("* " + continent)
