I'm getting an AssertionError on line 15 and I'm not sure what that means or what I should fix

This is importing a function named `tweet` from a file
that we unfortunately don't have access to change.
You use it like so:
>>> tweet("Hello this is my tweet")
If the function cannot connect to Twitter,
the function will raise a `CommunicationError`
If the message is too long,
the function will raise a `MessageTooLongError`

MAX_ALLOWED = 42
from twitter import (
tweet,
MessageTooLongError,
CommunicationError,
)
message = input("What would you like to tweet? ")
# Your code here
if len(message) > MAX_ALLOWED:
raise MessageTooLongError
try:
tweet(message)
if len(message) > MAX_ALLOWED:
raise MessageTooLongError
except MessageTooLongError:
print("Oh no! Your message was too long ({})".format(message))
except CommunicationError:
print("An error occurred attempting to connect to Twitter. Please try again!")

Treehouse Project ReviewerHey taliarosen !
The first error I encountered reads
AssertionError: False is not true : Make sure you catch the MessageTooLongError in a try except block
I would remove the if
statement on lines 24&25, as we're already checking for this in our try
block.
Then a new errors arrises reading
Bummer: AssertionError: 'max allowed is 42' not found in 'attempting to tweet: tfw you exclaim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\noh no! your message was too long (tfw you exclaim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)' :
Make sure you output the message from the exception
So it seems it's not getting our message
. But it's not asking for the message
input variable that we gathered, it's saying The exception has additional messaging, so let's catch the exception and print it out
. So we'll want to catch it with something like...
except MessageTooLongError as e:
print("Oh no! Your message was too long ({})".format(e))```
This will print out the error message that comes along with this `MessageTooLongError`. I hope this makes sense!
