is it ok to give float property to any other tag other than DIV or is it only meant for DIV tag.?

12,644 PointsNO. A float is CSS property. You can use this property "100% free" :) on any element.
The first/"original" use of floats was to wrap text around an image (<img>)
But floats can be used also for layout.
Another popular "not div" example of using floats is for navbars (<li>)
