Can someone please ELI5 the difference between single and double equal signs?

I don't understand the difference between assignment and comparison. Or, what comparison even achieves in this video.

1 Answer

Do you want to check if x equals 3? Use the double equals. Do you want to assign 3 to x? Use the single equals.

Really ran with the ELI5 part... thanks!
