Hi Graeme

It may be worth reviewing the video again but basically we start off by creating a new variable called firstName specifying it's type as String

String firstName

Use the equals sign '=' to assign a value to it

String firstName =

Then provide a value wrapped in quotation marks as this denotes a string value. and we end it with a semi-colon as it's the end of the statement.

So the completed statement should look as below:

String firstName = "Graeme";

Hope it helps!

Stephen
