2,405 PointsChallenge unclear
Hi, unsure of this challenge - what is expected?
I thought I should define a class where I (separately) could get an instance via
player_name = Player(last, first, score)
But seems to be wrong. Can someone explain in more detail what is intended here? How should the instances be created?
import re
string = '''Love, Kenneth: 20
Chalkley, Andrew: 25
McFarland, Dave: 10
Kesten, Joy: 22
Stewart Pinchback, Pinckney Benton: 18'''
RegEx = re.compile(r'''
^(?P<last_name>[\w\s]+)
,\s
(?P<first_name>[\w\s]+)
:\s
(?P<score>\d\d)
''', re.X | re.M)
players = RegEx.search(string)
class Player:
def __init__(self, last, first, number):
self.last_name = last
self.first_name = first
self.score = number

231,261 PointsYou were close. They want the arguments to have the same names as the variables they are stored in.
class Player:
def __init__(self, last_name, first_name, score):
self.last_name = last_name
self.first_name = first_name
self.score = score
