Combiner challenge: Try again!

I've checked and rechecked my code, and compared with others in the forum and can't find what's wrong with it. Any ideas?

instances.py
def combiner(arg):
    word = ""
    num = 0
    for x in arg:
        if isinstance(x, (int, float)):
            num += x
        elif isinstance(x, str):
            word += x
    return word + str(num)

Ok, so I just retyped the same thing from scratch and it worked. I know this happens with a fair bit of frequency -- seems like a bug. Mods, can anything be done?
