I am not quite understanding where i've gone wrong here, help would be appreciated!

continents.py 
continents = [
    'Asia',
    'South America',
    'North America',
    'Africa',
    'Europe',
    'Antarctica',
    'Australia',
]
# Your code here
print("continents:")
for continent in continents:
    if continents[0] == 'A':
        print("* " + continent)

Hi Kayla!

You're very close to the right answer.

Since you are iterating over the continents array using "for continent in continents", the current array element inside the loop has to be "continent" (singular).

Think the syntax, in effect being:

for (each) element in the array:
    # do something to the current element

This passes both:

continents = [
    'Asia',
    'South America',
    'North America',
    'Africa',
    'Europe',
    'Antarctica',
    'Australia',
]
# Your code here
print("continents:")
for continent in continents:
    if continent[0] == 'A':
        print("* " + continent)

So continent[0] is the first letter of the current element...
