Create a new function named from_string that takes two arguments: a date as a string and an strftime-compatible format string, and returns a datetime created from them.

I have been stuck on this one for a while now. I dont understand exactly whats wrong.

timestrings.py 
import datetime

def to_string(d1):
     return d1.strftime('%d %B %Y')

def from_string(string_date, strf_time):
      string_date = datetime.datetime.strptime(string_date, '%d %B %Y')
      strf_time = string_date.strftime('%d %B %Y')
      return strf_time



## Examples
# to_string(datetime_object) => "24 September 2012"

You're close, here's a couple of hints:

  • strftime and strptime do opposite things, it's most unlikely that you'd need both in one function
  • one of the arguments to from_string is the format, be sure to use that instead of a string literal
