how am i getting it wrong on creating the variable student

creating_dictionaries.py 
def print_student(**kwargs):
    for key, value in kwargs.items():
        print(f'{key}: {value}')

print_student(name='Ashley',topic='python')

The code shown here does not create a variable named "student" at all, but instead it creates and then calls a function named "print_student".
