Welcome to Treehouse!

For your second variable, rename it to lastName instead of a second instance of firstName, which was already declared and, thus, is causing some issues.

Post back if you are still stuck.

Happy coding,

After looking at your , i decided to have a look a hence i solved the problem Its actually too much easy it can be explained in 3 steps:

  1. Change the second instance to lastName instead of firstName. 2.Enjoy/Have fun 3.And thank the #TeamTreehouse for such facility..

String firstName = console.readLine("first name"); String lastName = console.readLine("last name");

String firstName = "Grant "; firstName = console.readLine("Enter firstName: "); // omit second String String LastName = "Adkins "; String lastName = console.readLine("Enter lastName: ");

this is what i got for the problem
