Delegates - some good examples

I just wanted to share this about delegates. I've been googling for a while and reading tons of descriptions about delegates that did not make sense to me, maybe this makes sense to you as well. Carling lesson was just not enough for me, I felt she only described the syntax not why we would need delegates.
