If I use the regex \w+ it will highlight words on multiple lines, but if I use \w* it only returns the first line. Why is this?

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Graduate 20,148 PointsI may have figured it out. This expression can match 0 characters and therefore matches infinitely. I still wonder why regexpal is showing it matching the first line and not the second, but I just won't use it.
