Error in throwing exception.

public void drive(int laps) { if (laps > MAX_BARS){ throw new IllegalArgumentException("Battery Dead!"); } lapsDriven += laps; barCount -= laps; }

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;
  private int lapsDriven;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }
  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return barCount == MAX_BARS;
  }

  public void drive() {
    drive(1);
  }

  public void drive(int laps) {
    if (laps > MAX_BARS){
        throw new IllegalArgumentException("Battery Dead!");
      }
    lapsDriven += laps;
    barCount -= laps;
  }
}

Hi Syed Faraz Ahmed, you need to change your condition to check against the value of barCount rather than MAX_BARS, since it is the barCount property that stores the current battery level.

if (laps > barCount) {
  throw new IllegalArgumentException();
}
