getting the grand total

please help to solve this Oue.- We're in a movie database. There's a reviews table with the columns of id, movie_id, username, review and rating. The movie "Starman" has the id of 6. Movie ids are found in the movie_id column in the reviews table. Write a query that totals up all ratings in the reviews table. Alias it as starman_total_ratings.

my code: SELECT movie_id,SUM(rating) AS starman_total_ratings FROM reviews GROUP BY movie_id WHERE id = "6";

:point_right: You have a few issues here:

  • a GROUP BY clause should come after a WHERE clause
  • the challenge did not ask for a GROUP BY
  • the challenge did not ask for movie_id to be displayed
  • the name of the id column is movie_id but the WHERE clause has id

In future postings, remember to include a link to the challenge page.

'''SELECT SUM(rating) AS starman_total_ratings FROM reviews WHERE movie_id = 6;'''

It should work! :-)
