Python Development Techdegree Student 2,810 PointsHand challenge in Python
Hi Guys!
For this challenge, is there a way to pass the second challenge of instantiating multiple D20 dices by using yield? I've tried to but can't seem to pass it. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
import random
class Die:
def __init__(self, sides=2):
if sides < 2:
raise ValueError("Can't have fewer than two sides")
self.sides = sides
self.value = random.randint(1, sides)
def __int__(self):
return self.value
def __add__(self, other):
return int(self) + other
def __radd__(self, other):
return self + other
class D20(Die):
def __init__(self, sides=20):
super().__init__(sides)
from dice import D20
class Hand(list):
@property
def total(self):
return sum(self)
@classmethod
def roll(cls=D20, count):
for _ in range(count):
yield cls()

231,236 PointsThis isn't a good application for "yield". That would be for a situation where calling a method would do only part of a job and calling it more times would do other parts of the same job.
This method should produce a completely loaded instance each time it is called.
