Has anyone gotten a dev job from doing the Techdegree program and using the projects in the course as a portfolio?

I am considering doing the Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree but I want to make sure it's a good decision before I spend the $199/month. Has anyone landed a solid software developer job from a Techdegree? And can you do the Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree with no experience?

Short answer: Yes.

I personally landed a job after completing my Techdegree back in October 2016, and here you can find stories of multiple people who have seen success.

Hi,

I applied for the job using the portfolio I created during the Techdegree. I had no other degree and had been focusing on the Techdegree so I had no other projects to show for.

Where I work they list degrees as a minimum requirement, so either they approved of the Techdegree or didn't really care and focused on the projects. So that by itself is a great grade for Treehouse.

I'm on the basic tracks right now, having just started the other day with no prior coding experience. Currently doing the Digital Literacy track as a way of introducing myself to the material. I already am up to 1190 currently. Thanks again for answering.

Heads up, you're gonna feel overwhelmed every now and then, but that's completely normal! :) Don't give up as long as you enjoy learning. Getting stuck will be frustrating, but if you enjoy the process and using what you learn, never give up!

The community here is really helpful and I would advise you to use it as much as possible.
