Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 1,209 PointsHow do I create a rule to target an element which is part of a specific class and control the styling?
I am having trouble solving a challenge. I need to: Create a new rule that targets the span element inside .intro. Give the span element a bold font weight and an italic font style. How best to do this? My solution, which seems to be wrong, was:
span, .intro { font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; }

.intro {
font-size: 1.25em; /* 20px/16px */
line-height: 160%;

span, .intro {
font-weight: bold;
font-style: italic;
}

The rule css rule you have made will be applied to every span element and every class named .intro. This is because of the comma you put after span.
What you should do is first write .intro and then span. So you are selecting the .intro class and then the span element within intro. Give this a go?
.intro span {
font-weight: bold;
font-style: italic;
}
