Hi Devin,

The span tag is the child of the header tag (because it's directly inside it). So, you need to use a child combinator, which is a '>' symbol.

So to target the span inside the header, your code should look like this:

header > span {
  /*your font style*/
}

Hi Ede, The code challenge is regarding Descendant Selectors, so while both ways of doing things will work, only the first way will pass this code challenge:

header span { font-size: 26px; }
header > span { font-size: 26px; }
