how do i target the colour in the paragraph of footer?

so when they ask me to set the target of the paragraph in the footer to set the colour of slate grey it won't work for me and I have tried many ways. So can someone please show me what the right way to right out this element please.

Hi Nick McNulty,

The footer needs to be defined as an element selector, not a class selector. :)

To add to what Guil said with a demonstration, because your footer element does not have a class of "footer" applied to it you need to use an element selector instead:

footer p {
  color: slategrey;
}

However, in your HTML if you had:

<footer class="footer"><p>This is a paragraph.</p></footer>

Then you could use a class selector as you originally tried.
