231,248 PointsYour loop syntax is good, but you've used the new variable as the iterator instead of the pattern. Instead, use:
for pattern in self.pattern:
Also, a different loop variable name might help avoid confusion. Perhaps something like "element" or "symbol"?
Then, you'll still need to add the code to convert the pattern characters ("." and "_") into the output string ("dot" and "dash" with "-" separators).
