How do you do this question

I don't understand its instructions

It means that he has already imported and created an instance of Console and stored it in a variable called console:

Console console = System.console();

This means that you are free to use the variable without typing the line above. To write to a console: console.printf(); console.println(); To read from a console: console.readLine();

This challenge first question wants you to create a variable to store a users firstName.
