As far as I can see it's just a problem with the content you're returning. I'm not sure why you have open curly braces there. We use % signs as placeholders. Also, you've commented out your return statement. So it's not returning anything at all at the moment. If I uncomment the return and replace the curly braces with percentage signs, your code passes. Take a look:

function merge(content, values) {
  for (var key in values) {
     content = content.replace("%" + key + "%", values[key]);
  }
  return content;
}
module.exports.merge = merge;

Awesome, That worked out. Thank you :) I guess I don't understand how "values" is getting the string "Janet"! do you know any documentation?
