I don't understand where Im getting wrong

the code doesnt seem to be working after making all the changes

racecar.py
class RaceCar:
    self.laps = 0

    def __init__(self, color, fuel_remaining, **kwargs):
        self.color = color
        self.fuel_remaining = fuel_remaining

        for key, value in kwargs.items():
            setattr(self, key, value)

    def run_lap(self, length):
         return fuel_remaining = fuel_remaining - (length*0.125)
         self.laps = laps + 1

car1 = RaceCar('red', 4)
RaceCar.run_lap(car1, 3)

Couple things. First self.laps=0 needs to be inside the init.

Also in the run_lap method you don't want to return the fuel_remaining just decrement it (just remove the return). Don't forget to add self. in front of fuel_remaining.

I can post the code if your still stuck but try again with these changes first.
