i have a question, i saw a post that said that you get points if you answer questions on the community tab, is that true

Yes you can earn points if your question is selected as best answer and also if it is up-voted.

Please note that to some of us (maybe just me), the additional learning from attempting answers and reviewing the discussions and issues, is much more valuable than the points.
