I think the quastion is not claer, dont understend what is wrong:(

The first step is to make each person their own single item ASSOCIATIVE array, using 'name' as the key for these internal arrays.

Hi Andrew! I feel like maybe you got hung up on that one line of the instructions and missed the part immediately before it. After your code runs, your $contacts will only contain one array with the key and value of 'name' and 'Andrew Chalkley'. Because you are redefining the $contacts array every time. Take a look at this part of the instructions:

To hold the email as well as the name for each contact, we need a multidimensional array, meaning each person in the contact list will have their own array.

A multidimensional array is an array of arrays. What you have are 4 arrays replacing each other. Let's see if you can get it with a similar example.

  $contacts = array(array('name' => 'Jennifer'), array('name' => 'Andrew'));

As you can see this array contains in itself 2 arrays with one array belonging to each person listed.
