PHP PHP Arrays and Control Structures PHP Arrays Multidimensional Arrays

I'm getting the right result in the "result" tab but when I click "Check Work" It's not letting me pass.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I'm clearly getting the desired outcome. If you click on the "results" tab it shows each name and email being dynamically updated. So, what's the problem?

index.php
<?php
//edit this array
$contacts = array(
              $Alena = array('name' => 'Alena Holligan','email' => 'alena.holligan@teamtreehouse.com'),
              $Dave = array('name' => 'Dave McFarland','email' => 'dave.mcfarland@teamtreehouse.com'),
              $Treasure = array('name' => 'Treasure Porth','email' => 'treasure.porth@teamtreehouse.com'),
              $Andrew = array('name' => 'Andrew Chalkley','email' => 'andrew.chalkley@teamtreehouse.com'),
            );

echo "<ul>\n";
//$contacts[0] will return 'Alena Holligan' in our simple array of names.
echo "<li>" . $contacts[0]['name'] . " :  " . $contacts[0]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[1]['name'] . " :  " . $contacts[1]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[2]['name'] . " :  " . $contacts[2]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[3]['name'] . " :  " . $contacts[3]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "</ul>\n";

Hi. I had a similar problem also on PHP track (but with other task). I think the problem is within the logic of the program which is checking up the solutions, a kind of that.

Hi tylerduprey, This is the answer that worked for me. <?php //edit this array $contacts = array( array('name'=>'Alena Holligan', 'email'=> 'alena.holligan@teamtreehouse.com'), array('name'=>'Dave McFarland', 'email'=> 'dave.mcfarland@teamtreehouse.com'), array('name'=>'Treasure Porth', 'email'=> 'treasure.porth@teamtreehouse.com'), array('name'=>'Andrew Chalkley', 'email'=> 'andrew.chalkley@teamtreehouse.com') );

echo "<ul>\n"; //$contacts[0] will return 'Alena Holligan' in our simple array of names. echo "<li>" . $contacts[0]['name'] . " : " . $contacts[0]['email'] . "</li>\n"; echo "<li>" . $contacts[1]['name'] . " : " . $contacts[1]['email'] . "</li>\n"; echo "<li>" . $contacts[2]['name'] . " : " . $contacts[2]['email'] . "</li>\n"; echo "<li>" . $contacts[3]['name'] . " : " . $contacts[3]['email'] . "</li>\n"; echo "</ul>\n";

I think it might be in the way you are building to array --$Alena = array('name'-- where mine omits the $Alena =

I hope this helps

That did it! Thanks Mike.
