OK, now you need to update the list view to handle creating a new Game instance. I've renamed the view for you, and updated the URL, but I want you to create the post method.
post takes the same arguments as get. You'll want to create a serializer instance from the request's data attribute. Then, if it's valid, save it and return the data as a Response.
If it's not valid, be sure to raise an exception. I think there's an argument for doing that automatically. Do you remember what it was?
Be sure that your response has a 201 status code.
from rest_framework.response import Response
from rest_framework.views import APIView
from . import models
from . import serializers
class GameListCreate(APIView):
def get(self, request, format=None):
games = models.Game.objects.all()
serializer = serializers.GameSerializer(games, many=True)
return Response(serializer.data)
def post(self,request,format=None):
serializer = serializers.GameSerializer(data=request.data)
serializer.is_valid(raise_exception=True)
serializer.save()
return Response(serializer.data, status=status.HTTP_201_CREATED)
