There are a number of issues with your code:

  1. You seem to have accidentally copy and pasted the echo "<ul>\n"; line so that you have two copies of it and the comment that went with it. That will cause an issue since the output that is printed has to be exactly what the challenge checker expects for you to complete the task.

  2. When accessing the name property you forgot to provide the index and also forgot to use brackets for the name property both of which are invalid.

  3. after accessing the name property you try to combine the strings with a comma instead of a dot, which is also invalid.

  4. You forgot to add \n at the end of the </li> strings.

If you fix all of those errors like this:

<?php
//edit this array
$contacts = array(
  array('name' => 'Alena Holligan', 'email' => 'alena.holligan@teamtreehouse.com'),
  array('name' => 'Dave McFarland', 'email' => 'dave.mcfarland@teamtreehouse.com'),
  array('name' => 'Treasure Porth', 'email' => 'treasure.porth@teamtreehouse.com'),
  array('name' => 'Andrew Chalkley', 'email' => 'andrew.chalkley@teamtreehouse.com'),
);
echo "<ul>\n";
//$contacts[0] will return 'Alena Holligan' in our simple array of names.
echo "<li>" . $contacts[0]['name'] . ' : ' . $contacts[0]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[1]['name'] . ' : ' . $contacts[1]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[2]['name'] . ' : ' . $contacts[2]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[3]['name'] . ' : ' . $contacts[3]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "</ul>\n";

Then your code will pass.
