Is Except the opposite of Intersect in sets?

My mind get a little foggy and uncertainty!!!. Could someone help me clear some of that fog about Except. Is Except in sets the opposite of Intersect? Also Is it the same as XOR gate?

:point_right: EXCEPT and INTERSECT are not exact opposites.
