Is it possible to use a Bitbucket account for the Front End Web Development Techdegree projects?

Greetings.

I started 3 days ago my Front End Web Development Techdegree trial. Before starting my first project I would like to know if it is possible to use a Bitbucket account instead of a Github account. Both uses git. But I personally prefer Bitbucket because it allows you to create both public and private repositories for free. In addition, it includes an issue tracker (similar to JIRA) that is good for working on teams. Thanks.

I'll let a staff member answer the question about accepting Bitbucket submissions.

You can use both GitHub and Bitbucket simultaneously however. Simply add GitHub as another remote for your repository and you can push your changes there as well as Bitbucket. You can have as many remotes as you want (Heroku for deployment, etc) and can push changes to each individually as needed.

Hello Victor!

At this time our system is set up to work with Github, so that's what we ask that you use. So you'll probably want to look into Seth's suggestion above.

For future questions, please consider joining the Front End Web Development Slack channel! It's an awesome community of students and mentors who are around to offer help and answer questions :)

Thank you Seth Kroger for your suggestion. I already finished the project and uploaded it to GitHub. It looks it has all features from Bitbucket with the difference that you have to pay for private repositories. I asked on the Slack channel for feedback on my first project and they already answered. Thank you very much.
