java basics

Using the console's printf method, display a message that says, "First name: ", followed by the first name that the user has entered.

what should I do here.

IO.java
// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
String firstName="ramis";
String lastName="khan";
console.readLine("first   ");
console.readLine("last   ");
console.printf("First name:%s",firstName);

try

String firstName= console.readLine("first   ");
String lastName=console.readLine("last   ");

console.printf("First name:%s",firstName);

need to assign what you get back from the console to the variables in question.
