Two issues:
1) Your string literal needs to be surrounded by backticks.
2) Lose the trailing } after the second prompt )
This how I coded it (and works fine):
const secretWord = 'tomato';
let message = 'Access denied :(';
for ( let i = 5; i >= 1; i-- ) {
let guess = prompt(`Enter the secret word. You have ${i} tries.`);
if ( guess === secretWord ) {
message = 'Welcome to the secret loop world!';
break;
}
}
console.log(message);
I hope that helps.
Stay safe and happy coding!

12,769 PointsHere you go:
const secretWord = 'tomato';
let message = 'Access denied :(';
for ( let i = 5; i >= 1; i-- ) {
let guess = prompt(`Enter the secret word. You have ${i} tries.`)
if ( guess === secretWord ) {
message = 'Welcome to the secret loop world!';
break;
}
}
alert(message);
There was one extra parenthesis.
