So I see this thing about a techdegree tournament and one of the options is ios. So why even get rid of ios in the first place if it could be brought back??

I think, (I don't pretend to be in the know about this) that the decisions about what content is added and what remains in the Techdegree program is down to take numbers and what the trends say the people want. If the TechDegree was removed it may have been because there wasn't enough take upcat the time to justify the costs.
If however, the tournament initiative shows that the people do want the iOS Techdegree to come back I'm sure Treehouse would consider bringing it back. It's all about providing choice but the company also needs to know the likelihood that enough people want it.
