I have spent a lot of time trying to figure this out and I'm losing interest quickly. What is the problem with what I have?

You nearly had it! The instructions say "Create a new variable named contacts that is an re.search() ...", but this code is using "re.match()" instead. Otherwise, the regex pattern is good!
