I noticed the class name of the div element was changed to "please-help". That would be a reason why referencing it in the css with main-content isnt working. Try resetting the challenge, and entering the css that either Martin or myself provided. There is no need to change the HTML at all.

10,636 PointsHey Douglas,
There's a typo in property name of font-weight. Also youre supposed to target the p element inside the footer element and change that color to slategrey. So try...
.main-content p {
font-weight: bold;
}
footer p {
color: slategrey;
}

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 44,824 PointsHi Douglas,
2 things, first is the semicolon after slate grey, second is the spelling of font-weight.
the final code should be
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
header span{
font-size: 26px;
}
.main-content p {
color: slategrey;
font-weight: bold;
}
These things are very easily done so don't stress over it, quite normal and where I love code editors :)
Hope this helps.

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 44,824 Pointsfor the 3rd challenge you need to target the p element differently
