Make the text inside each list item a link. my answer is <a href "cakes.html">

I am trying to make a link to cakes.html but it keeps giving me error

You are really close, but there are 2 problems with your code. Anchor tags aren't self contained so they need a closing tag (before the closing li tag) and you need to put an equal sign between the href attribute and the link path, like this:

    <li><a href="cakes.html" > Cakes</a></li>
    <li><a href="pies.html" > Pies</a></li>
    <li><a href="candy.html" >Candy</a></li>
  </ul>
