My method str without adding the class runs fine on its own but how do I combine with the classes to produce the right output?
class Letter:
def __init__(self, pattern=None):
self.pattern = pattern
def __str__(self, pattern):
new_list = self.pattern.copy()
for item in new_list:
if item == '.':
n=new_list.index('.')
new_list[n]='dot'
else:
n=new_list.index('-')
new_list[n]='dash'
return "-".join(new_list)
class S(Letter):
def __init__(self):
pattern = ['.', '.', '.']
super().__init__(pattern)

54,971 Pointspattern is passed in to __init__
so it doesn't need to be passed into __str__
. Also the instructions are to replace underscores with dash. You have a hyphen.
