Either I've written the correct answer and test is broken, which I doubt, or the quetion is too confusing for someone as new as I am.

console.readLine("%s", firstName);
String lastName = ("Fraser");
console.readLine("%s", lastName);

Treehouse Guest TeacherHey Keane, you don't need to use console.readLine() in this case, it simply wants you to print the firstName and lastName variables that you created.

String lastName = console.readLine();

console.printf("Last name: %s\n", lastName);

26,783 PointsThe code should look something like the lines below this comment. I think the purpose of the two methods being used is confusing you. I think about it like this; readLine gets the input, and printf sends the output.
String fristName = console.readLine();
console.printf("Frist name: %s", fristName);
